Luce Price doesn't have the cleanest record. Plus, she sees these shadow men. When an incident occurs, involving a fire and a boy’s death, Luce is sent to a boarding school. There she meets Daniel, a bad boy at school who doesn't want her anywhere near him. But Luce is insanely attracted to him and can’t get him off her mind. Then she’s able to break down the walls Daniel built around himself, and finds out that there’s more to the story than meets the eye. You see, Daniel is a fallen angel, and Luce is the reason he fell. As a result, they've both been cursed. Every 17 years, Luce is born but dies when things between her and Daniel get a little too heated. But this time something’s changed, Luce’s not coming back to life if she dies.
Overall I thought this book was great. I loved the character’s and I like how there’s an animosity between Luce and Daniel at the beginning. There were some flaws though. It didn't completely capture me at first but more towards the middle. Also, the story line became a little predictable at some parts and I’d prefer more action during the climax. If you’re into angels and star-crossed lovers, then you should definitely give it a try! In conclusion I give Fallen by Lauren Kate 7/10 stars.
*Side Note* The rest of the series failed to keep me interested, I read up to the third book
